District 2 Officers Use CPR Skills, Save Life

June 3rd, 2013 by milwaukeepolice

District 2 Officers Aaron Frantal, Adam Rusch, and Chad Steppke are credited with saving the life of a 40-year-old Milwaukee woman this past weekend. Shortly after 6 p.m. on June 1, 2013, Officer Frantal was flagged down in the 1600 block of W. Forest Home Avenue and told that there was a person in a car having a medical emergency. Officer Frantal found the woman to be non-responsive, to have no pulse, and not to be breathing. Officer Frantal immediately summoned medical attention and called for back-up. He then began life-saving actions by performing one-person CPR and rescue breathing.

Officers Rusch and Steppke quickly responded to Officer Frantal’s call for help. They assisted with CPR until the woman’s pulse returned. Milwaukee Fire Department personnel arrived, stabilized the patient, and conveyed her to a local hospital for treatment.
