A man with five prior convictions for operating motor vehicles while intoxicated and a felony arrest warrant for violation of parole from an operating while intoxicated conviction was arrested last night after leading police officers on a pursuit that went from Milwaukee to Racine County.
On Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at about 6:10 p.m., a Milwaukee Police Sergeant was flagged down by citizens that had just been involved in a motor vehicle collision near W. Layton Ave and S. Howell Ave. An S.U.V. had struck an automobile occupied by two people and was leaving the scene southbound on Howell.
The Sergeant pursued the striking S.U.V. The pursuit went into Caledonia where eventually the suspect’s auto was stopped with the assistance of members of the Racine County Sheriff’s Department. The 33-year-old male driver was arrested for duty upon striking (hit and run) of an occupied motor vehicle while intoxicated, fleeing police and resisting an officer. The two citizens in the automobile that had been stuck by the suspect’s S.U.V. were not injured.
