Good Police Work Nets Bad Guys, Assault Rifle

November 19th, 2012 by milwaukeepolice

On Wednesday, November 13, 2012, at 2:45 a.m. District 3 Officers Andrew Kempen and Thomas Delaney responded to N. 16th St / W. North Ave for a report of shots fired. While enroute, the victim parked at 1940 W. North Ave. and flagged down the squad regarding the shots fired. The officers saw a single bullet hole on the outside of the front driver side door of the victim’s vehicle.

Meanwhile, District 3 Officers Matthew Mengel, Thomas Ackley and Matthew Van Drisse responded to a shots fired complaint in the area of N. 18th St./W. North Ave.

The officers saw two subjects walking westbound in the 2200 block of W. Meinecke Ave, and then ran when they saw the officers.  Both were arrested and taken into custody. An AK-47 and a magazine for the AK-47 were located under the vehicle where the two suspects were arrested. The two admitted to involvement in the incident.

Another great example of how officers are in the right place at the right time night after night in Milwaukee!
