Illegally Parked Car Leads Police to Armed Felon

On June 4, 2012, Neighborhood Task Force Officers Chris Navarrette and Chris Conway made a stop for an illegally parked vehicle at 8:28 p.m. in the 3300 block of N. 28th St. Officers smelled the odor of marijuana and they requested that the suspect, a 52-year-old male, get out of the car.

The suspect discarded THC onto the front seat. Officers recovered THC, Cocaine, Oxycodone and a firearm. The suspect, a felon, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and violation of parole/probation. Good observation by street officers often leads to wanted suspects.
