August 7th, 2017 by milwaukeepolice

On August 4, Milwaukee Police surprised 8-year-old Destiny with a giant teddy bear and other presents delivered in MPD’s ice cream truck. Destiny was injured on July 31 when a fight among teenagers down the block escalated into a shootout. One round struck Destiny, who was playing in front of her house.  Officers returned to the area with the ice cream truck handing out ice cream to residents on the block and delivering the gifts. Officers and members of the Milwaukee Police Department’s faith-based partnership also provided information regarding resources on trauma informed care to the family.  For more pictures, check out MPD’s Facebook page.
