Overnight Incidents

Milwaukee Police investigated a shooting incident that occurred in the 3300 block of N. 23rd Street at 11:11 p.m. Thursday. The victim is a male in the 20s who sustained one gunshot wound to the back. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital. There is no known relationship between the victim and the suspect. The victim is currently uncooperative with police regarding what occurred. The incident is currently under investigation.

A self-inflicted shooting occurred in the 4900 block of W. Hadley at 12:07 a.m. Friday, July 27. A 19-year-old male accidentally shot himself on the right foot after handling a firearm. His injuries are non-life threatening. He was treated at a local hospital and released. The 19-year-old is currently in police custody for warrants and for carrying a concealed weapon.

Police investigated a crash at Sherman and Burleigh at 12:36 a.m. Friday after the driver of a minivan sped away from a traffic stop and collided with a black sport utility vehicle. The minivan was stolen from Brown Deer. Officers were not pursuing the vehicle at the time of the crash. Three people were taken into custody in connection with the minivan theft. Police are seeking two additional suspects. The driver of the sport utility vehicle was taken to a local hospital after complaining of pain. The investigation is ongoing.
