Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Downtown Crash

At about 6:00 p.m. on February 5, two pedestrians were struck by an auto as they crossed N. Water Street at E. Wells Street. The auto, a 2004 Ford Explorer driven by a 71-year-old Milwaukee man, was turning left from eastbound Wells onto northbound Water when the pedestrians were hit. The pedestrians, a 60-year-old Franklin woman and a 69-year-old Muskego woman, were crossing westbound in the crosswalk. Both women were injured as a result of the accident and both were conveyed to a local hospital for treatment. The 69-year-old Muskego woman was treated for her injuries and released, however the 60-year-old Franklin woman continues to be treated for her injuries and is now in grave condition.

The driver of the Ford remained on the scene. He was cited for Inattentive Driving, however the investigation is ongoing.
