The owner of a dog that viciously attacked a man out walking his dog on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at about 5 p.m. in the 4200 block of W. Capitol Dr. has turned himself in to Milwaukee Police this evening.
A 37-year-old man was arrested when he came to the District 7 station about 6 p.m. Milwaukee Police could not confirm his identity because he lied about who he was the day of the incident. He is currently on probation and is being charged with state obstructing, violation of probation and will receive numerous citations.
Here is the story:
A couple was out walking their dog when a Pit Bull leapt from a second story balcony and began to attack the dog. The 55-year-old male dog owner came to the defense of his pet and wrestled the Pit Bull off his dog. The Pit Bull began to attack the dog owner and bit him numerous times. The man has more than 30 puncture wounds from the attack.
Responding officers located the Pit Bull and shot at the dog two times with a shotgun, killing it. The victim was taken to a local hospital and was admitted. He will be undergoing surgery for the numerous dog bite puncture wounds he suffered to his face, arms, legs and torso.
