The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a double fatal crash that occurred in the 4500 block of N. Hopkins Street around 2:30 a.m. on March 31. The preliminary investigation reveals that a 37-year-old male was operating a Chevy Malibu northbound on N. Hopkins Street when he lost control of the vehicle and collided with a Toyota Corolla that was traveling in the opposite direction. Despite lifesaving efforts performed by the Milwaukee Fire Department, the driver of the Chevy Malibu was fatally injured and died on the scene.
Two occupants of the Toyota Corolla were conveyed to a local hospital. The driver, a 35-year-old male, was seriously injured and is in stable condition. The passenger, a 32-year-old male, was unable to recover from his injuries and died at the hospital. The circumstances that led to the accident remain under investigation.
